As this is the most basic version of the loop station Boss offers, it is missing a few key features present on the more expensive models. On the top panel, there is a new and innovative loop indicator, which consists of a 24-segment LED laid out in a circular pattern. The RC-505 has four inputs, so you can capture and mix a variety of different audio sources as you build your loops. This has resulted in musicians everywhere wanting to create their own single-person performance masterpieces.Created by Roland V-Drums specialist Simon Ayton, these patches were designed using the internal factory sounds and many of the techniques covered in the TD-50 guide. FX includes staples like G2B (adjusts a guitar’s pitch and tone to sound like a bass), DELAY, HARMONY, VOCODER, as well as more adventurous effects like SLICER, BEAT SCATTER, and even step sequence-able synth style effects. With its two phantom-powered XLR microphone inputs, two stereo line input pairs, and three stereo line output pairs, loop station can accommodate a wide variety of instruments and audio playback formats. All looping functions can be accomplished with only the integrated pedal switch: record, overdub, play/stop, undo/redo, and clear.
