About this deal

For Dracula is one of the Un-dead—a centuries-old vampire who sleeps by day and stalks by night, feasting on the blood of his helpless victims.

This is a scrumptious slice of horror and crime fiction, and I give fangs for getting a copy of this from the publisher. Although Bram Stoker did not invent the vampire, the influence his novel has had on pop culture is undeniable; Stoker essentially defined the modern form of Count Dracula. At least it's one of those 'you can all join in' threads that proper horror boards do as surely, everyone has a copy of Dracula? As this book comes in a slip case it might have looked better if they had made all 3 sides uneven too. There's nothing pornographic about Dracula by today's standards and subsequent editions of the book quickly lost the yellow jacket.

We take intellectual property concerns very seriously, but many of these problems can be resolved directly by the parties involved. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Well, before you know it, I'm being chased by an ugly thug with a gun, and a bullet blasts its way through my back, and - believe it or not nothing happened. There is already a Limited Edition 1 of 1000 numbered title page in addition to the actual title page. Only YOU can decide, and only your skill, good fortune and intuition will determine who will triumph.

There's a glossary, introductory notes and even a quiz at the end so you can bone up on important plot developments and stuff to further convince your friends that you're in the habit of reading sprawling gothic horror classics. My belief is, that by telling these tales about vampires in Wilno, the Polish residents hoped to scare away American immigrants who were settling on the land. Which would explain why the title and author lettering doesn't touch the edges of the spine as the on the 1st edition's.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. com, the Sell on Etsy app, and the Etsy app, as well as the electricity that powers Etsy’s global offices and employees working remotely from home in the US. For years after I wondered how fantastic it would be if it was republished and bound like the 1st Edition of 1897.

The story is told in epistolary format, as a series of letters, diary entries, newspaper articles, and ships' log entries, whose narrators are the novel's protagonists, and occasionally supplemented with newspaper clippings relating events not directly witnessed. DERT’s social mission is to ensure that all children identify as readers by having access to books and being read to on a regular basis. As the design is so straightforward, I find it difficult to see how gaffe's were made on this edition, which makes the use of the word 'facsimile' questionable. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin, in science, mathematics, oratory, history, and composition, Stoker' s writing was greatly influenced by his father' s interest in theatre and his mother' s gruesome stories about her childhood during the cholera epidemic in 1832. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. They strike up an initially uneasy friendship but its no secret that Escott shares Jack's adventures throughout the series and proves himself to be a thoroughly good egg. Thus, I must wonder if Stoker and his fellow Britons had similar prejudices to those from the further-flung corners of the continent as the Canadian government did. I liked all the characters, and even though I knew when and where tragedy would strike, the emotional impact was no less on this reread. I recently had the pleasure of diving into Bram Stoker's "Dracula," and it's safe to say that I was utterly captivated from start to finish. In most cases, this means that it was first published prior to January 1, 1929 (see the template documentation for more cases).

This should have been a page to get spot-on but, sadly, the 2012 edition doesn't really follow the original page layout that closely.I wasn't expecting absolute 100% perfection, but, as 'facsimile' means an exact copy, especially in printed material, I kind of expected something pretty close, even more so because the original publisher had undertaken the project. And it's good to see a lovely rendition of Pissedoffer Lee looking suitably angry that he's had to don the robes and teeth again. The modern day incarnation of the old Count is a snappy dresser (army fatigue chic, mirror shades, etc. However, Dracula — a novel told as a series of letters, journal entries, and newspaper articles — is one of those books where 16 different people could read it and come away with 16 different things to say about it.
