Only available for Fitbit Premium members. This feature is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition and should not be relied on for any medical purposes. It is intended to provide information that can help you manage your well-being. We only use the microphone to register noise levels and snores; we do not store any of your audio data. There are some big differences between the Fitbit Versa 2 and Versa 3 when it comes to general smartwatch features, which may make the newer watch a more appealing prospect. On the right edge of the watch chassis is a tiny mic and a speaker which, in theory, should allow you to take calls. Before testing, I had forgotten that the Versa 3 could measure my skin temperature, just like the more expensive Sense can. The data can be found under the Health Metrics section, which is part of Fitbit Premium, and it can alert you to a possible oncoming illness or other condition that you may want to discuss with your healthcare provider. Speaking of Fitbit Premium, the Versa 3 comes with six months of the service, which includes guided fitness programs, helpful health tips, and in-depth metrics to help you better understand and take action on all of the data your Versa 3 collects. There are also differences when it comes to music. Both watches allow you to control your Spotify playlist from your wrist (provided you have a Spotify Premium subscription), and the Versa 3 also supports streaming from Deezer.

One of the Fitbit Versa 3's best features is its high-resolution AMOLED display (Image credit: TechRadar) Fitbit Versa 3 price and availabilityTo charge a Fitbit, you will need to connect the charging cable to the device and then plug the other end into a power source, such as a computer or wall outlet. Some Fitbit models come with a wireless charging pad that you can use to charge the device by placing it on the pad. How accurate is a Fitbit heart rate monitor? Keeping the screen always-on, though, drains the battery significantly, giving you no more than two days on a full charge. And if you use the GPS combined with the always-on display, you’ll need to charge the battery every day. It's worth reiterating that many of the better Fitbit apps are paid, just as they are on Apple Watch or Android Wear OS devices, so you'll need to pony up if you want some of the expanded functionality they provide. Fitbit has made a move to challenge Apple's dominance in the smartwatch market, realising that a huge chunk of the market prioritises fitness applications. And you can see this in the comparison between the Versa 2 and the Apple Watch 5 (the most realistic comparison as of early 2020). If you own an Apple iPhone, you can probably do a lot more with the Watch 5, and Apple have paid a bit more attention to aesthetics. If you're shopping for a watch to show off at work, rather than at the gym, the Watch 5 will probably be preferable. But the sleep analysis tools, variety of fitness programs, and the relatively low Fitbit Versa 2 price tag makes it a far better option for most fitness fanatics. The Fitbit Versa UK range currently contains two main models, so let's look at those first before going through the main features: There’s also a lot more fitness monitoring features on the Versa 3, making the on-device interface a lot busier than what was available on the Versa 2 at launch. There are ways to manage them all, but they do take time to get used to.Alexa is, of course, on board to help you answer some questions that are displayed on the device, and with Google buying Fitbit, a firmware update some time in the future will add Google Assistant to the wearable as well. A fully-charged Versa 3 has a battery life of 6+ days. Battery life and charge cycles vary with use and other factors; actual results will vary. It offers more screen real estate than the Versa 2, and adds an integrated GPS, an SpO2 sensor to measure the amount of oxygen in your blood while you sleep, and support for Fitbit's Active Zone Minutes metric (earned for time spent in fat burn, cardio, or peak heart rate zone). Fitbit has also changed the strap mechanism – the same as in the Fitbit Sense – and we think it’s better than the mechanism on the Versa 2. A small button acts as a latch, which when pulled slightly down releases the clasp. It gives the watch a much more streamlined look and makes it remarkably easy to swap out the default sporty strap it comes with. Like the more expensive Sense smartwatch, the Versa 3 can measure your SpO2 and skin temperature from your wrist.

Varies with use and other factors; up to 12 hours with continuous GPS. On-wrist calls require more frequent charging. Design-wise, the Versa 3 looks nearly identical to the Sense, featuring the same bright, colorful 1.58-inch, 336-by-336-pixel AMOLED display. In my Sense review, I noted that the display can be laggy; you sometimes have to swipe several times to get a response, an issue I also experienced on the Versa 3. The screen is beautiful, but it can be frustratingly unresponsive at times. At one point while testing the Versa 3, the screen froze and I had to reset the device to get it to start working again. The Versa also features the same troublesome band release mechanism, which I found could be accidentally triggered on the Sense. When you're done with setup, read through the guide to learn more about your new watch and then explore the Fitbit app. Fitbit says the feature is "not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition and should not be relied on for any medical purposes." That said, if your sleeping SpO2 level is lower than 80 percent, you should seek professional medical attention. Included information about Calm meditation sessions and snore and noise detection features being added.

The Health Metrics dashboard and the metrics displayed in the dashboard are not available in all countries. Not intended for medical purposes. It was updated in September 2021 with the following changes.Heart rate between the Fitbit and Garmin was actually pretty similar, though without a chest strap, it’s hard to say whether they were both bang-on accurate, or well off target. All I can say is that despite Jonathan Bray’s misgivings about the heart-rate monitor in the Fitbit Sense – the same tech in use here – it does perform at least as well as a wearable on the other wrist. There’s “Relax” for a start, which guides your breathing for intervals of up to ten minutes. You can either watch the small purple circle fill and empty to pace your breathing or, if you want to close your eyes, just feel out for the vibrations which will tell you when it’s time to breathe in and out.
