It took so long to get out my gear and tripod and get set up that I kept getting only photos of footprints where the fox had stood.

I am waiting for your response to this problem which leaves me partly unsatisfied with this excellent lens. The Sigma 150-600mm lens is featured an optical layout consisting of weather-sealed features. Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 for Nikon F But if you stop down to f/7.1 or higher and do the testing, the difference between these lenses is even tighter. This is an off-brand third-party lens and may or may not work on your camera regardless of what anyone says. If it doesn't work, return it, or call Sigma, not your camera maker, for help. The addition of the 1.4x TC to the Sigma when stopped down, doesn’t seem to affect the image quality. The Sigma seems to have a clear advantage when it comes to chromatic aberration (CA), and even using the 1.4x TC there was noticeably less fringing in high contrast areas, when compared to the Tamron. Of course, CA is very easily corrected in Camera RAW or Lightroom when shooting in RAW.With that said, sigma is unique and offers true value for the money that comes with worthy features such as build quality, focus, speed, specifications, and more.

I did a lot of testing, I even filmed in portrait mode and then I rode the image and verified that it was doing better than evidenced by the vertical OS DOESN´T WORK! Even shot on my 50MP Canon 5DS/R it's super-sharp at all focal lengths at all apertures at all points in the full-frame image. It's just a tad softer in the corners at 600mm wide-open at f/6.3, but nothing I'd ever notice in actual shooting. Inside this box are two folded cardboard ends holding the lens, hood and caps in its case, as well as USA warranty paperwork, folded multi-language instruction sheet and an Allen wrench and spare screws for the tripod collar foot. There is also a 105mm snap-in front cap in the bottom of the box you might not notice. There are probably no color fringes on Nikon cameras, which by default correct for any that may be there. The autofocus is excellent, though you'll need to make sure your camera is set up in the optimal way to take advantage of it. The build quality of the lens is also impressive – while no one is going to pretend this is a lightweight lens, it handles well, with tactile zoom and focus rings and a series of on-body controls for functions like AF speed, stabilization intensity, and in a new addition for the mirrorless version, Zoom Torque control to adjust the resistance of the zoom ring. This is a real 3-D tree trunk, so only the center is in focus while the sides are farther away and not in focus. Just a note before I talk about sharpness, I only used this lens mounted to the crop-sensor Sigma sd Quattro. In images from a full-frame camera, and with just about any lens, you can expect sharpness to fall off more in the corners due to showing the lens' full image circle. The framing in a crop sensor image is more concentrated on the sharpest spot at the center of the lens.

This is an all-around excellent lens that's absolutely worth the money for E-mount and L-mount users. See our full Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports review. 150-600mm lens alternatives Well, 300mm is most recommended for sports, i.e. F/4L. It is considered the best focal length that helps you capture great shots from far distances. If you want to do wildlife photography, then Canon 300mm is a good option. Conclusion It is an interface between the computer and the Sigma lens. I’ll outline the calibration procedure based on how I approached the setup. Now, How do Set It?Price: The Sigma 150-600 DN comes at a recommended retail price of 1399 EUR (incl. 19% VAT) / 1499 USD / 1199 GBP. The Tamron 150-500 is 1499 EUR / 1399 USD / 1379 GBP, the Sony 200-600 is 1670 EUR / 2000 USD / 1500 GBP. The older DSLR designs currently sell for 1650 EUR / 1850 USD / 1330 GBP (Sigma 150-600 HSM Sports) and 1000 EUR / 1200 USD / 850 GBP (Tamron 150-600). [0] This Sigma is as expensive as camera-brand lenses but offers a greater zoom range. Its zoom range is so broad that if you don't mind hauling it everywhere (I do), that it replaces both a 70-200 and a 200-600mm lens — so then it's not that expensive anymore. My tests turned out to be a bit less conclusive than I’m used to seeing. But it looks like I was able to get almost 50% shots with usable central sharpness even at 1/40 sec. This would be a 3-4 stop advantage from the image stabilization of the lens at 600mm focal length. I also came across test shots where the OS led to images with less sharp outer image areas. Best keep in mind that holding/shooting a combo that weighs almost 2.9kg over an extended period of time is always stressful and leads to increased shake. So it’s better to shoot from a tripod, monopod or any support you can get for the lens when using focal lengths beyond 200mm.
