During a discussion with campmates, conversation turned to his former professional rival David Haye. That's what I said upon finding this on the shelf in my local library. I love that. When something you would have anticipated the arrival of, had you known it was about to exist, is just There one day. Hurrah! His raspy tones were floating from a loudspeaker during the four-day fayre which began on Thursday and runs until Sunday. Thousands are expected as it's a welcome shot of fun and cheer and will boost the economy, with most of the stallholders coming from North Wales this year. It's also free. The official collection includes a festive jumper, scarf and blanket which has taken inspiration from Raymond Briggs’ iconic and best-loved picture book of the same name, which was first published in 1978. A new work has been commissioned for the Christmas Eve service every year since 1983, and this year Cheryl Frances-Hoad has written ‘The Cradle’, a setting of an English translation by Robert Graves of an anonymous seventeenth century Austrian text.

Major depression affects 13% of people in their lifetime and almost 4% of the population within any 12 month period. It is twice as prevalent in women, most commonly starts in the 3 rd decade, lasts more than 2 years in up to 20% of sufferers, and has a 35% recurrence rate. Dr Christmas explained that he had been a Consultant in Tayside since 2006 working in a Nationally funded, supra-specialist Advanced Interventions Service (AIS). With the main focus of the unit’s work being on treatment-refractory depression and OCD, he began with a few statistics relating to each condition. The President welcomed the company to the meeting. He introduced Dr David Christmas, Consultant Psychiatrist in the Advanced Interventions Service and based in Dundee, inviting him to give his talk on ‘ Modern Management of Treatment-Refractory Depression and OCD’.

Ant has been married to Anne-Marie Corbett since 2021, while Dec tied the knot with Ali Astall in 2015 and they have two children together. The book is cute but I didn't really care for the illustrations of David. Like, another review that I saw, I think David is slightly creepy. He's got sharp, wide spaced teeth and his fingers are really pointy. He kind of reminds me of the drawings from those "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" books that I read when I was a kid. If David had been drawn a bit cuter, it would have been a five star review book for me. But about the book... I know David isn't for everyone. I know some find it garish, but I'm not one of those people. I might develop a staring problem looking at this book because David Small is SO. DAMN. GOOD. The expressions are perfect and funny, as usual, and his painting achieves a feeling of texture I've truly never gotten from any other picture book. References to earlier books (running down the street with nothing but a winter hat and boots on, for example) make a person "HA" outloud. And those snowman pajamas... I want a pair. The vineyards of Bergerac don’t quite fall under the geographic rubric of Bordeaux, but their wines, made from the same group of grape varieties, share many similarities, while generally coming in at a significant discount. That’s certainly the case with this clever bit of sourcing by Tesco, with its refreshing, curranty crunch.

Episode 1 - The first Doctor Who special starts on BBC One at 6.30pm and is an hour long. The episode is called 'The Star Beast' and sees the return of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble - and answers to her memory being wiped by the Doctor who warned her family that if she ever remembered him, she would die. The episode synopsis reads: "The Doctor is caught in a fight to the death as a spaceship crash-lands in London. But as the battle wreaks havoc, destiny is converging on the Doctor’s old friend, Donna." Dr Christmas summed up by saying that for depression there is little new; ketamine is interesting but currently too short-lived to be useful. Possibly the use of psychedelic agents will be a future area for research. Most developmental work is in neuro-stimulation but there are few really useful outcomes of this to date. For OCD, the best advice is to use existing drugs better and, where tolerated, in higher doses. DBS may be better for OCD than depression but this is not yet substantiated. But of course David is only making a brief return and a new Doctor will officially be taking over the Tardis, played by Ncuti Gatwa. But when exactly will viewers first get to meet their new Doctor? Dr Christmas then moved on to describe several newer brain stimulation therapies for depression, concluding that none is close to coming into routine clinical usage at present. Dr Christmas then moved on to say more about the work of the AIS in Ninewells Hospital which was established with central Scottish Government funding in 2006. Much strategic emphasis has been put on differentiating between the intended quaternary level status of this unit, with the requirement to fill tertiary level need, there being no tertiary level psychiatry services anywhere in Scotland. This means that the majority of the work involves assessing referrals direct from secondary care. It was noted that referral requires no extra expenditure from referring health board to this specialist unit with its top-sliced central funding. For millions listening around the world, A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, live from the candlelit Chapel of King's College, Cambridge, marks the beginning of Christmas. The service is based around nine Bible readings which tell the story of the loving purposes of God. They are interspersed with carols old and new, sung by the world-famous Chapel choir, who also lead the congregation in traditional Christmas hymns.
